*They just got done recording their new album, out in September. They didn't mention the titles of the 2 songs they did from it. Amy's song first line: "I can go one day without calling..." last line: "I got no mind to lose."
**First line: "My my how time flies..." last line: "We get to fill it all."

Sulli is back in action, sharp as ever, yay!
Julie Wolf was there, thank goodness. When they have Julie along, they don't need anybody else. Julie sang the second verse of "Closer to Fine." Three guys from the opening band The Shadowboxers sang the third verse. Indigo Girls were putting out hit records before the guys in the Shadowboxers were even born...
A&E talked about their word for playing or singing a wrong note: "brainbuzzer."
Emily said "Wolf Trap in summer—it's like soup!" It was a very humid evening. A big thunderstorm came through a little before the concert but cleared up in time to spare the people out on the lawn.
This was the second venue on the current tour. Amy said how Wolf Trap is their favorite place to play. "Every time we play here, I get nervous for a week before, it's so special. You can ask my dogs."
This was the first time I ever heard "Go" unplugged. Couldn't recognize it until they started singing. They actually pulled off a decent acoustic arrangement of it. Wow.

Hi, IG fans. After last night's concert at the Birchmere in Alexandria, I made a list of all the Girls' songs I've heard (missing a few, to be filled in soon), and I tried to list the musical genre for each one. I won't post the list here because it's much too large, and I had to post it in 3 parts, but I'll link to my journal:

Indigo Girls song genres (part 1)

Indigo Girls song genres (part 2)

Indigo Girls song genres (part 3)

Come on over and see if you agree or disagree with my thoughts.

Hey all - I haven't watched it yet, but here's a two-part video interview with Amy, which includes some soundcheck footage - sounds cool!

Anyone know what's going on with Vortex? I was hoping to snag some of the chords people posted of the songs from the new album. (If anyone has those and wants to send em to me, that'd be sweet... I've got Salty South, What Are You Like, and Second Time Around, but I'm missing everything else)

indigo girls memorabilia MOVING SALE!

Posted by indigokare on 2009.05.22 at 21:00
hey y'all,

i'm packing to move soon (more of that forthcoming very soon if you are on my friends list. it's a good move...). i have been collecting indigo girls memorabilia since the late 80s. i'm really trying to get rid of stuff for this move. anyway, i discovered that i have duplicates of many indigo girls memorabilia items. instead of selling everything individually, i listed a few memorabilia "lots" on ebay. considering i paid $15-20 for some individual items in these lots, i am selling this stuff at quite a discount.

i don't want to get rid of my collection, but since these are duplicates, i can justify it. i realized i had duplicates of so so so much, sometimes 3+ copies of random items.

anyway, if you are an indigo girls fan (or an amy ray solo fan too, duh) check out my ebay auctions.

i'm not a janky autograph/memorabilia dealer (in fact, i am not selling anything that was signed because most of my signed memorabilia was personalized to me). i'm a true fan and i want my duplicates to go to other true indigo girls fans. :)

berkeley and sacramento photos

Posted by indigokare on 2009.05.14 at 15:11
here are my photos from berkeley and sacramento. my berkeley photos kind of suck. the photo police were out in full force. and i am so sorry about the lack of emily photos. i was in the front row, but a bit off to amy's side. shooting emily without a flash from my vantage was nearly impossible. the sacramento ones are a bit better; i was front row center.

Article about celebrities with librarian moms. Just a brief mention of Emily along with a bunch of others, but I thought it was kinda cool. Here's the paragraph that includes her:

Musicians seem to have a lot of mother-librarians. Indigo Girl Emily Saliers’s mother, June, is a retired children's librarian at Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System in Georgia. Linkin Park’s Brad Delson; the Smiths’s Morrissey; and Australian singer, writer, and actor Nick Cave all had librarian mothers.
