Vortex?

Posted by angelalala on 2009.06.22 at 14:54
Anyone know what's going on with Vortex? I was hoping to snag some of the chords people posted of the songs from the new album. (If anyone has those and wants to send em to me, that'd be sweet... I've got Salty South, What Are You Like, and Second Time Around, but I'm missing everything else)

I thought that I saw some of the new songs on tabcrawler.com earlier, but now when I look back I think I must have been mistaken. That, or did they take them down?

I've almost got the chords for True Romantic and can get them up tomorrow. It's easy enough to follow Amy on the YouTube videos. I could never in a million years do that with Emily's songs.

Oh, I didn't see that. I found Sugar Tongue on ultimate-guitar though. It's too bad, cause Vortex members had figured out every new song except one and I didn't copy them down and now Vortex is gooooonnne!

True Romantic would be sweet! No rush or anything. :)

Oh, thanks, I just looked and saw Sugar Tongue on ultimate-guitar! It's a departure from her comfort zone around GDAC, which is what True Romantic seems to be.

I do enjoy the version on YouTube where she stops because she forgets the song. It's the one where I can see her hands the best. She has a great sense of humor when she messes up.

can't help you with guitar cords - but what did happen to the vortex?

Okay, I have a starting point for you on True Romantic.

I think most of the verse and chorus rocks back and forth between Cmaj- G7, Cmaj-Bmin. Every phrase/ line starts on C. And I think there are parts in the chorus where she goes from C- G- Bmin directly.
I have to do this by watching her hand placement on the fret board because (sad, but true) I have an auditory processing learning disability and I can't "hear" the chords.

That's start, I hope. Feel free to make corrections.
