HI there! I have a friend who is a huge Indigo girls fan, and for his birthday in July I want to get him a rare CD that he doesn't have....does anyone have good recommendations for good rare CD that I could get for him that is easyish to find whether it be on Ebay or Amazon?

Thanks!

How about "Jesus Christ Superstar: A Resurrection"? It's still available from Daemon Records here. Most of their really rare stuff (that I know about anyway) is on vinyl. For CD's you might want to look for hard to find compilations that IG are on. "Put On Your Green Shoes", "Spirit of 73", and "Where Have all the Flowers Gone: A Tribute to Pete Seeger" are the ones that come immediately to mind (the Pete Seeger tribute is still widely available). Those CDs all have songs on them that aren't on any of their other CDs. Beyond that, you might want to look for an interesting import.

Strange Fire isn't rare, but it still has some of their best stuff on it. The Desperate Housewives soundtrack CD had a really good cover of "Mrs. Robinson" by the IG. The rest of the CD is good too.
Emily and Amy sing back up on two songs on Michelle Malone's Devil Moon which is just an AWESOME CD.

I wouldn't really consider Back On The Bus that rare since it is part of the Epic catalog. The Club R&R CD that came out in the early 90's used to be one of the best rare releases of theirs that was around. Parts of it have been released on other recordings (1200 Curfews I believe). It was originally released as promotional only and it has probably been pirated through the years. There were only a few thousand originals released of it if memory serves me right. I know at one time in the 90's it was going for more than $100 on the used market but I have no clue on what it would fetch these days.
